  8. DSM Player is shareware $15. I am giving you a 30-day trial period, 
  9. after that, you must either register or remove it.
  10.  
  11. I am asking you to take registration very seriously, since, my plans on 
  12. expanding it primary depends on how well this software will be supported. 
  13. I realize that Macintosh is in a big need of a mod player like Mod4Win, 
  14. therefore, I will do my best to create make DSM Player the best mod player 
  15. on the market! Without your support, it will never happen.

  17. If you've decided to register, the procedure is the following:

  19. Once you mail me the form with the payment, I will send you a postcard back
  20. with your Registration Name and Registration Code on it. By entering these
  21. into program, you will unlock the coolest features in the Player and remove 
  22. all these annoying shareware notices.

  24. In the future, I plan to release a MOD Empowerment Pack consisting of:

  26. 1. DSM Player™ 1.1
  27. 2. DSM Player™ 1.0 as Netscape Plug-In (allows you to embed the player into
  28.     HTML documents)
  29. 3. DSM Engine FREEWARE

  31. You can find DSM Engine on info-mac mirrors already, and it is absolutely
  32. FREE. Use it any way you want in your software.

  34. I will be updating the player free of charge. Those who registered, will find the 
  35. updates on any info-mac mirror, and you won't even have to re-enter your
  36. code again.

  38. DSM Player is written entirely in PowerPlant. Thus, I must say thanks to
  39. Greg Dow, the inventor of it, and of course Metrowerks, inc. Btw, best 
  40. development enviroment for Macintosh, if you don't own it yet, I strongly 
  41. recommend it, that is, if you're into development at all.

  43. Please note, that by supporting DSM Player you're supporting MacMikMod
  44. product as well, since, both program share the same mixer. Any improvements
  45. I make to the DSM, directly reflect on MacMikMod.

  47. What's new?

  49. The Mixer has been finally partially rewritten to PowerPC assembly,
  50. the 68k assembly version of the mixer is still in works, but hopefully,
  51. will soon be completed. A few bugs were fixed.

  56. including but not limited to implied warranties of fitness for a particular 
  57. purpose.

  101. You can find a lot of mods on ftp.cdrom.com /pub/demos/music.

  103. I prefer to update my collection from http://www.watson.org/mods/. First
  104. of all, it is a very nice and convinient WWW page, and second, it is has a large 
  105. veriety of nice MODs and S3Ms.

  107. Hints
  108.  
  109. If you're trying to playback large MOD files and DSM Player for some reason
  110. fails to load them. Try increasing memory requirements for the application
  111. by doing Get Info in Finder.
  112.  
  113. Since most of the 68k Macs do not support 44 kHz and 16 bit, I recommend that
  114. you manually adjust the settings to 22 kHz 8-Bit. If for some reason it still
  115. doesn't work, try turning off the linear interpolation.
  116.  
  117. Some mods are looped internally, unfortunately, I can't do anything about it
  118. and thus, I am just going to let them loop forever. If song does have internal
  119. looping, it is up to you to switch to the next song. You can do that easily by
  120. pressing a <tab> key either from player window or song list window.

  124. DSM Player was reported having troubles with some screen savers, and
  125. Kaleidoscope software. If you're experiencing weird crashes, please notify
  126. me and I will try to fix it.

  130. If you're a member of Arizona Macintosh Users Group (AMUG) you're
  131. entitled for a free copy of this software. To obtain a registration number, 
  132. please send me an e-mail with your full name from your AMUG account 
  133. to: demos@amug.org. After I verify your status at AMUG, you will receive 
  134. registration code that will be valid with your name only.
